Vim Colors Bright/Faded in iTerm2, but not in Macvim -


my screen looks enter image description here when open vim in iterm2, when supposed this.

when open vim in macvim, looks supposed to.

i have tried:

  • suggestions here, including getting latest nightly build of iterm2 , newest iterm themes
  • the first answer here, insert hi normal ctermbg=16 in vimrc

does have ideas diagnosis or solving this?

the colorscheme using depends on 16 "ansi" (yes know, there's no such thing "ansi" colors , on that's how called everywhere let's keep simple and… incorrect, shall we?) defined in terminal emulator.

if want vim screenshot, you'll need set iterm use colorscheme's specific colors. done manually author has added a preset repo.

how use preset:

  1. preferences… → profiles → current profile → colors
  2. load presets… → import…
  3. choose bundled preset
  4. load presets… → coffee
